ICE Agents Take Two Into Custody In Danbury DANBURY, Conn. — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents took two men into custody in Danbury Monday on unknown charges, according to the News-Times. Danbury Police told the News-Times that they were not involved in the detainment of the two men, and did not know on what charges the men were being held. One of the men was taken into custody at a Franklin Street apartment and taken by ICE agents to an unknown location, the News-Times reported. Report: Former Ridgefield Fire Chief May Have Been Intoxicated On The Job RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- A former Ridgefield fire chief who retired this year following an investigation appeared to be intoxicated at the scene of a fire in December, according to documents obtained by the Ridgefield Press. Wrong-Way Driver Charged In Fatal Crash On I-95 MILFORD, Conn. -- An East Haven man has been charged in connection with a head-on crash on I-95 in Milford last year that killed one person, according to police. Police said that on April 16, 2016, Shivam Patel, 23, of East Haven was driving the wrong direction on I-95 northbound when he crashed head-on into another car near exit 36 in Milford. Both Patel and the other driver, 24-year-old Terell Wilson of Norwich, were seriously injured and taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital. Wilson died about three weeks later from his injuries. Case Continues For Greenwich Teen Charged In Fatal Hit-And-Run GREENWICH, Conn. — The case against a Greenwich teen charged with a fatal hit-and-run has proceeded slowly for nearly a year, according to Greenwich Time. Andrew Schmidt, 18, was arrested last May in connection with the April 17, 2016 hit-and-run that killed 43-year-old Edward Setterberg, according to police. Retiring Bridgeport Deputy Chief Receives Large Payout After 47-Year Career BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — A former deputy police chief with the Bridgeport Police Department who retired this month will receive a payout of more than $450,000 on top of his pension, according to the Connecticut Post. The $453,814 that James Honis will receive will amount to $308,639 after taxes, and is based on earnings such as overtime and unused paid time off from his 47-year career, the Connecticut Post reported.
