Former Owner Of Danbury Pet Shop Sentenced For Animal Cruelty Charges DANBURY, Conn. -- The former owner of a pet store in Danbury pleaded guilty to animal cruelty charges and has been sentenced to probation with special conditions, according to Yorktown News. Richard Doyle, 56 of Mahopac, pleaded guilty to five counts of animal cruelty charges on Dec. 2 in Danbury Superior Court, Yorktown News reported. He was sentenced to three years' probation, was ordered to have no affiliation with a pet store or rescue shelter, and was required to donate $5,000 to Second Chance Rescue, according to Yorktown News. Couple Files Lawsuit Against Greenwich Hospital In Baby Daughter's Death GREENWICH, Conn. – A couple has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Greenwich Hospital after their baby daughter died during labor and delivery last year. The lawsuit was filed by Lauren E. Sorgen and her husband Grant D. Gulyassy, and alleges that on June 3, 2015 the hospital and obstetrician on call at the time failed to appropriately monitor the heartbeat of their daughter, Myriam Grace Gulyassy, and failed to deliver her by emergency C-section. Car Hits Side Of Building In Greenwich GREENWICH, Conn. -- A car hit the side of a liquor store in Greenwich Wednesday afternoon.Firefighters responded to the scene after the car hit the side of Bellmore Liquors at the intersection of West Putnam Avenue and Josephine Evaristo Avenue. Josephine Evaristo Avenue was briefly closed at the intersection while emergency workers responded, but it was later reopened, according to fire officials. There was no word of any injuries in the incident.

Shelton Bus Driver Who Fell Asleep At The Wheel Arrested SHELTON, Conn. -- A bus driver for Shelton schools who was removed from his post after falling asleep at the wheel earlier this month has been arrested, according to police.
