Program Readies Norwalk Students For College Applications NORWALK, Conn. – The college application process is a daunting task, but a new program for Norwalk students is designed to make it less overwhelming. The College Edge Program is operated by Higher Education Literacy Professionals (HELP) and is run in conjunction with the Mayor’s Summer Youth Employment Program. Teen Accused Of Underage Party In Darien, Then Items Discovered Stolen DARIEN, Conn. -- A Darien teen who hosted a party while his parents were out of town was issued an infraction and items also were stolen from the garage, police said. Police responded to a home on Walmsley Road the night of Tuesday, July 21 on a report of an underage party. Norwalk Police: Woman Kicked Officer, Threw Bottle At Car NORWALK, Conn. -- A 21-year-old woman from Bridgeport kicked a police officer after throwing a bottle through a man's windshield early Saturday, according to Norwalk police. Norwalk Man Charged With Urinating On Bridge, Giving Fake ID NORWALK, Conn. -- A Norwalk man gave police a fake ID after he was caught urinating on a bridge into Norwalk Harbor early Monday, according to police. Suspicious Men Enter Darien Home Posing As Water Company Employees DARIEN, Conn. -- Two suspicious men entered the Darien home of an elderly man last week claiming to be employees of the water company, according to police. NY Woman Charged With Punching, Biting Woman For 'Mean Look' In Norwalk Bar NORWALK, Conn. -- A New York woman was charged with assaulting another woman in the bathroom of a Norwalk bar, police said. Truck Knocks Down Pole And Wires On Bluff Avenue In Norwalk NORWALK, Conn. -- A garbage truck hit a pole and knocked down wires on Bluff Avenue in Norwalk Monday morning. The incident occurred at around 9:30 a.m. Monday when an independent trash removal truck hit wires attached to a pole on Bluff Avenue, according to police. The truck pulled the wires down along with the pole, police said. Police reported that there were live wires hanging over the road, and crews were en route to fix the damaged pole.
