Norwalk Mayor Declares Snow Emergency, Urges Residents To Stay Off Roads updated: NORWALK, Conn. -- The city of Norwalk is under a snow emergency, and its residents should get home and stay off the roads by Monday evening as a blizzard slams the area. Mayor Harry Rilling made the announcement in a press conference at noon Monday at the city's Emergency Operations Center at the Norwalk Fire Department. Darien Y Amends Hours For Storm, Offers Services To Town DARIEN, Conn. -- The Darien YMCA will offer no programs Monday afternoon, but will be available to help residents if there are power outages. The Y will not offer programs after 12 p.m. Monday and will close at 6 p.m. Fitness classes will still be held until closing. The Y will be closed Tuesday, with the goal to open for regular business hours and full programming on Wednesday. Darien Community Association Closing Early Monday DARIEN, Conn. -- The Darien Community Association will close at noon Monday in anticipation of Monday's snowstorm. Morning classes will be held, but the scheduled 12:30 p.m. Duplicate Bridge class is canceled. The DCA will be closed Tuesday and no activities will be held as the blizzard takes hold. The DCA is hoping to be able to reopen Wednesday for regular hours at 9 a.m. Updates will be posted at the DCA's website and on Facebook and Twitter.

Norwalk Garbage Collection Postponed As City Prepares For Storm NORWALK, Conn. -- There will be no garbage or recycling pickup Tuesday and Wednesday as Norwalk prepares for the approaching blizzard. Members of the city's Emergency Management Team are preparing for the event and closely monitoring the storm, according to city officials. Teen Reported Missing A Month Ago In Norwalk Found Safe In Fairfield FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- A 14-year-old boy who had been reported missing after he was last seen in Norwalk in December has been located safely, according to police. Storm Sorrentino was found Friday in Fairfield by the Fairfield Police Department. Detectives from the Norwalk Police Department responded and conducted an interview with Sorrentino, who has since been reunited with his father.
