Fairfield Mother Jailed In Case Of Missing 14-Year-Old Son From Norwalk FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- A Fairfield woman whose 14-year-old son is missing and is the subject of a nationwide search has been jailed for not telling authorities of the boy's whereabouts, according to the News Times. Windows Smashed, Items, Thousands In Cash Stolen From Cars In Darien DARIEN, Conn. -- The windows of three cars were smashed at the Darien YMCA last week and thousands of dollars worth of items were stolen, including $16,000 in cash and a $50,000 Rolex, according to police. Westport Firefighters Knock Down Basement Blaze WESTPORT, Conn. -- Westport firefighters quickly contained a small blaze in the basement of a home on West Branch Road late Monday night. The Westport Fire Department received a report of an automatic fire alarm at the home shortly after 11 p.m. Monday. Two engine companies and a shift commander were dispatched to the scene. Norwalk 13-Year-Olds Charged With Beating Up Two Adults NORWALK, Conn. -- Two 13-year-olds were arrested on charges of attacking two men on West Avenue in Norwalk late Sunday night. The two teens were charged with third-degree assault and conspiracy to commit third-degree assault. Each was issued a juvenile summons. NCC President To Join Himes For Obama's State Of The Union Address NORWALK, Conn. – U.S. Rep. Jim Himes announced Thursday that he will be bringing Norwalk Community College David Levinson as his guest to the State of the Union next week to show support for a proposal by President Barack Obama to make the first two years of community college free for students. Obama’s proposal would provide funding for the first two years of community college for students who receive a 2.5 GPA or higher. Car Fire Slows Traffic On I-95 In Norwalk NORWALK, Conn. -- One lane of I-95 south was shut down Thursday afternoon as firefighters responded to a car engulfed in flames. The Norwalk Fire Department responded to the fire at 3 p.m. The 2005 Ford Crown Victoria was fully involved in the blaze as firefighters arrived, officials said. Second Suspect Arrested In Norwalk Armed Robbery NORWALK, Conn. -- A second suspect has been arrested in the November armed robbery of a variety store on Main Street.
