Darien Woman Charged With Dumping Syringes Found At Holmes School DARIEN, Conn. -- A Darien woman was arrested after police said they found syringes with her DNA and cocaine dumped on the property at Holmes Elementary School. Anne Curts, 32, was charged with three counts of risk of injury to a minor. She was held on $10,000 bond and will appear in court Friday. Police were contacted three times in April and May after students and staff found hypodermic needles at Holmes School. Norwalk's Person-To-Person Adds $35,000 Grant To Fill Food Pantry NORWALK, Conn. -- Person-to-Person has received a $35,000 grant from the Connecticut Health and Educational Facilities Authority that will help stock the organization's Norwalk and Darien food pantries and provide financial assistance to families in need. Person-to-Person Executive Director Ceci Maher said so far this year Person-to-Person has provided 285 families with financial assistance for rent and utility bills. Norwalk Police Offer $50,000 For Info On 2011 Double Homicide NORWALK, Conn. -- Norwalk police are offering a $50,000 reward for information to help solve the 2011 murders of Iroquis Alston and Rickita Smalls. Alston and Smalls, both Bridgeport residents, were found shot to death in a car on Norwalk's Avenue B on Aug. 6, 2011. Their deaths were ruled a double homicide. The Norwalk Police Department is asking for the public's help in solving the case. Darien Businesses Pull Out All The Stops For Tax-Free Shopping Week DARIEN, Conn. -- Shoppers in Darien and beyond can look forward to a week of shopping without sales tax on certain items later this month. For one week, shoppers in Connecticut will not have to pay sales tax on clothing and footwear items that cost less than $300. The annual sales tax-free shopping week begins Sunday, Aug. 17 and lasts through Saturday, Aug. 23.
