Posh Nail And Spa Celebrates Darien Opening DARIEN, Conn. -- Posh Nail and Spa celebrated the opening of its newest location Wednesday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Darien. Posh opened in June on the second floor of the Darien Playhouse Building on Post Road. The Darien spa is the third location the business has opened. Norwalk Man Accused Of Falsely Reporting Armed Subject NORWALK, Conn. -- A Norwalk man was arrested Monday night, Aug. 4, after police said he called in a fake tip about an armed man. Gimel Anderson, 21, was charged with falsely reporting an incident and interfering with an officer. He will appear in court on Aug. 15. Police received a call shortly before 11:30 p.m., Monday, reporting a man armed with a gun at a bus stop on Richards Avenue. Jewelry Stolen From Lynn Court Home In Darien During Vacation DARIEN, Conn. -- A Darien family returned home from a weekend vacation to find their Lynn Court home had been broken into and a number of valuables taken, according to police. The family left their home the morning of Friday, July 25, and returned the afternoon of Monday, July 28. When the family came home, they found that someone had cut the screen to a window leading from the deck to the laundry room, police said. Norwalk Police Chief's Son Gets Ticket For Marijuana In Darien DARIEN, Conn. -- The son of Norwalk's police chief was issued an infraction in Darien last week on marijuana and drug paraphernalia charges after an officer saw him with a glass pipe in his mouth while he was driving in town, according to Darien police. Police: Large Fight Breaks Out Among Island Belle Passengers In Norwalk NORWALK, Conn. -- Norwalk police broke up a large fight involving a big crowd of people who were departing the Island Belle ferry after a party cruise early Saturday, according to police. Norwalk Police, U.S. Marshals Arrest Stamford Sex Offender NORWALK, Conn. -- A Stamford man who is a registered sex offender was arrested by Norwalk police and U.S. Marshals in Milford on Friday, police said. Scott Cogswell, 24, of Stamford was charged with first-degree failure to appear. He was held on $200,000 bond and will appear in court Aug. 12. Cogswell was found guilty in 2008 of illegal sexual contact with a victim under 16 and fourth-degree sexual assault. He was also convicted in 2012 of failure to register as a sex offender.
