Norwalk Man Arrested After 12-Year-Old Son Crashes Car Into House NORWALK, Conn. -- A Norwalk man was arrested Saturday after his 12-year-old son crashed a car into their neighbor's house, according to police. Giuseppe Manugas, 45, was charged with risk of injury to a minor and allowing a person under 16 to operate a motor vehicle. He will appear in court Aug. 1. Darien Man Accused Of Cursing At Neighbors, Police DARIEN, Conn. -- A Darien man was arrested Sunday after neighbors complained about him yelling obscenities and revving his car engine, police said. Mark Whitehead, 52, of Tulip Tree Lane was charged with breach of peace. He was held on $250 bond and will appear in court Aug. 7. Officers were first called to Whitehead's home at 7:30 p.m. after neighbors called to complain that he was in his front yard yelling, police said. Bridgeport Man Charged With Having Gun On Norwalk Ferry NORWALK, Conn. -- A Bridgeport man was detained and later arrested early Sunday, July 27, after he tried to bring a gun onto the Island Belle ferry that docks in South Norwalk, police said. Rodney Howell, 34, was charged with carrying a gun without a permit. He was held on $2,500 bond and was to appear in court Monday, Aug. 4. Darien Woman's Car Stolen After Keys Taken From Daughter's Car DARIEN, Conn. -- A Darien woman's car was stolen Saturday night after the keys were taken from her daughter's car, police said. Campers Try Out Their Sea Legs On The Sound In Darien DARIEN, Conn. -- The Darien Sail and Power Squadron took more than 100 local campers out on Long Island Sound on Friday for a day of boating in perfect summer conditions. The Boat Camp, an annual tradition in Darien, was started in 1997 as a way to introduce under-privileged kids to the joys of boating. For many of the kids, it is the first time they have ever been out on a boat. The campers hail from Stamford and Norwalk and are part of Person-to-Person's Campership program. Darien Police Launch Program To Track Those Who Wander DARIEN, Conn. -- Darien residents who worry that a family member could wander off can now rest easy thanks to a new program launched by the Darien Police Department. Project Lifesaver is a national program designed to protect people who may wander away from home due to Alzheimer's disease, dementia, autism or Down syndrome.
