Westport Photographer Captures 40 Years Of Daily Life In New Exhibit WESTPORT, Conn. -- Photographer Larry Silver has been taking pictures life in Westport since he moved to town 40 years ago, and a retrospective of his work is now on display in a new exhibit at the Westport Historical Society. Featuring more than 50 black and white images from the past four decades, "Westport Visions" depicts the downtown area, the parks, the beaches and the people of Westport. Police: Norwalk Man Claimed To Have Dead Bodies In His Car NORWALK, Conn. -- A Norwalk man was arrested Thursday morning after police said he claimed to have dead bodies in the trunk of his car and then locked himself in his house. William Cyrta, 54, contacted Fairfield Police rambling about having dead bodies in his car, Norwalk police said. Norwalk officers were dispatched to Cyrta's Bartlett Manor home to check on him, police said. Norwalk Police Make Arrest In Westport Avenue Bank Robbery NORWALK, Conn. -- A Norwalk man who tried to climb onto the roof of a hotel to elude arrest Wednesday was charged with robbing the First County Bank on Westport Avenue last Thursday, police said. Isaiah Gary, 32, was charged with first-degree robbery and second-degree larceny. He was being held on $200,000 bond. The robbery occurred shortly after 10 a.m Thursday, July 17. According to police, Gary entered the bank and handed the teller a note before fleeing the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. Darien Seniors Praise Long-Awaited Opening Of Mather Center DARIEN, Conn. -- The Mather Community Center has finally opened its doors and is drawing fanfare from Darien seniors, including Nancy Francesconi. Norwalk Murder Suspect Killed In South Carolina By U.S. Marshals Updated: NORWALK, Conn. -- The suspect in the May murder of a Norwalk man was shot and killed by U.S. Marshals in South Carolina during a confrontation outside a hotel Tuesday morning, police confirmed. Vamond "Wooley King" Elmore, 37, was wanted in connection with the May 15 killing of Jimmy Martinez. Hallucinating Suspect Tasered After Norwalk Police Chase NORWALK, Conn. -- A Mount Vernon man who was Tasered following a police chase on I-95 Tuesday morning told Norwalk officers that he was hallucinating and did not think they were real cops, according to police reports. Norwalk Police Detain Suspect As Standoff Ends On West Rocks Road updated: NORWALK, Conn. -- A police standoff ended early Tuesday afternoon as Norwalk officers entered a home on West Rocks Road and removed a man threatening to harm himself, police said. Darien Police Break Up Underage Drinking Parties DARIEN, Conn. -- Darien officers broke up two parties with underage drinkers last week and arrested two men on charges of providing alcohol to minors, police said.
