Port Chester Will Have After School Programs For K-8 PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- Port Chester students in elementary and middle school will still be able to take part in after school programs this year after the district lost $1.4 million in state funding. The new after school program at the middle school will be run by Service Education Resources and will begin at the start of the school year. The elementary after school program will be run by the Port Chester Council for the Arts, and will begin later on in the month.  Parents will have to pay a fee for the programs, unlike previous years. The amnesty program was initially established in 2012 to provide relief to homeowners who unknowingly bought homes that had code violations. The law allowed residents to apply for multiple permits under one umbrella permit, waived fees for building permits and waived fines for violations. Winning Powerball Ticket Sold In Rye Expires RYE, N.Y. -- A winning $1 million Powerball ticket sold last year in Rye expired Sunday with no winner coming forward. The ticket was sold at the Playland Market on Forest Avenue prior to the Aug. 25, 2012 drawing. The winning numbers were 1-6-7-20-49, with Powerball number 23. The owner of the ticket had a year from the date of the drawing to redeem their ticket for $1 million, which is worth about $662,000 after taxes. On Wednesday, Pelham singer and former winner of "Westchester Idol" Jackie DiMaggio will perform in Riis Park. On Thursday, Led Zeppelin tribute band Hindenberg will perform with special guest Three For All on the West Harrison Village Green. Rye officials are working to restore three historic mile markers located throughout town.
