Rye High School was awarded a gold medal in the magazine's annual ranking of the best high schools. Rye students scored an 84 on the magazine's college readiness index, which is based on advanced placement exam participation rates and the percentage of students passing at least one exam. U.S. News Ranks Blind Brook High School 16th In State RYE BROOK, N.Y. -- Blind Brook High School was named the 16th best high school in the state and 80th best in the country by U.S. News and World Report. Blind Brook received a gold medal in the magazine's annual ranking of high schools. Students scored a 80.4 on the college readiness index, which is based on the rates of students who take the advanced placement exams and the percentage of students who pass at least one exam. One hundred percent of students scored proficient in English and 100 percent were proficient in math.

Port Chester High Student Wins $10,000 To Build Swim Team PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- Port Chester High School senior Astrid Vargas won a $10,000 scholarship and another $10,000 to establish a swim team at Port Chester High School. Vargas is the winner of the MetroPCS #makechange competition. Each person in the competition had to come up with a community project that they would fund with the $10,000.
