Construction Workers Protest In Stamford For Local Jobs STAMFORD, Conn. – Hundreds of construction workers rallied in Stamford Saturday afternoon to protest the hiring of out-of-state workers for local projects. More than 200 carpenters, laborers, electricians, plumbers, sheet metal workers and iron workers from local unions marched through the rain, shouting their outrage over Connecticut jobs going to workers from other states. Man Shot In The Back On Woodward Avenue In Norwalk NORWALK, Conn. - A 21-year-old man was shot in the back on Woodward Avenue in Norwalk just after 2 p.m. Saturday, according to police. One suspect has been taken into custody. The victim sustained a single gunshot wound to the back and was taken to Norwalk Hospital for treatment, according to Lt. James Walsh. The status of the victim is unknown at this time, but Walsh said he does not believe the wound was life-threatening. Witnesses told police the suspect was still in the area. Freezing Rain, Snow May Hit New Canaan Saturday Night FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – Freezing rain and snow may hit Fairfield County Saturday night and Sunday morning. The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather alert for the northern part of the county from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent.
