Darien To Replace Or Fix Oil Tanks At All Schools DARIEN, Conn. - The Darien school district  will replace or repair its failing oil tanks at all schools, it was announced at Tuesday night's Board of Education meeting. Officials said the district is applying for state grants to help pay for the $518,000 project. Last summer, the tanks at four elementary schools failed environmental tests required by the state. The district took a look at the remaining schools and discovered that none of the monitoring systems were working at any of the schools. Post 53, which is mostly staffed by teens, was called 1,525 times in 2012, with an average response time of six minutes, one second. The national standard is between eight and 12 minutes. Woman Charged With Using Forged Prescriptions In Darien DARIEN, Conn. ? A Bronx woman has been charged with forging prescriptions at a pharmacy in Darien, according to police. Bianca Thompson, 22, was arrested Tuesday on a warrant charging her with obtaining a controlled drug by fraud, obtaining a controlled drug by forged prescription and illegal use of a false prescription. She was released on a promise to appear in court on March 1. Thompson was one of three people arrested in Monroe in June 2011 and charged with fraudulently obtaining oxycodone pills from a Rite Aid in Monroe.
