Woman Charged In Attack On Teen At Darien Playhouse DARIEN, Conn. - A Stamford woman was charged last week with assaulting a teen at the Darien Playhouse in January. Jessenia Maharaj, 36, was charged with third-degree assault, risk of injury to a minor, conspiracy to commit third-degree assault and breach of peace, Darien police said. She was released on a promise to appear in court March 11. In late January, a 16-year-old working at the Darien Playhouse reported that a group of women came in and attacked her. Man Charged With Larceny At New Canaan Radio Shack NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- A Norwalk man was charged Feb. 27 with stealing a computer from a New Canaan Radio Shack in late December, according to police. Wayne Nasution, 50, was charged with fifth-degree larceny and second-degree criminal trover, meaning that the item he stole decreased in value, police said. He was released on a $500 bond and will go to court on March 13. Metro-North Identifies Darien Man Killed By Train DARIEN, Conn. - The man who was struck and killed by a train at the Noroton Heights station Monday morning has been identified as Kevin Murphy, 55, of Darien, according to Metro-North. There is currently no information on how Murphy got on to the tracks, according to MTA spokesperson Aaron Donovan. The incident is being investigated by MTA police. Murphy was hit just before 6:30 a.m. by a train that had departed New Haven at 5:38 a.m. The accident temporarily shut down all eastbound service at the Noroton Heights, Darien and Rowayton stations. Service was resumed late Monday morning.

Darien Joins 2,900-Mile East Coast Greenway DARIEN, Conn. - Darien will become a stop on a 2,900-mile trail from Maine to Florida as part of the East Coast Greenway. The East Coast Greenway project was started in 1991 by a group of cyclists and long trail enthusiasts. Their goal is to link trails all along the East Coast that are used for non-motorized exercise and recreational activities such as biking and hiking.
