Norwalk Homeless Man Charged With Assault NORWALK, Conn. - A homeless Norwalk man was charged with beating another homeless man with an ice scraper on New Year's Eve, police said. Carlos Linares, 40, of Norwalk, was charged with first-degree assault. He was being held on a $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear Jan. 10 in court. Police received a report of a 43-year-old man bleeding from the head Monday night on Woodward Avenue. The man appeared to be intoxicated, police said, and told the officers he had been hit on the head with a metal object two or three times. Dog Found In Plastic Bag Behind Darien Restaurant DARIEN, Conn. - An injured dog was found in a plastic bag behind a Darien restaurant Sunday, according to police. The dog was later euthanized. Employees of Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza found the brown and white beagle in a black plastic bag covered by a cardboard box near the Dumpsters behind the restaurant. The dog did not have a collar or tags, and appeared to have been in the bag for several hours, police said. It was old, very dirty and unable to move, according to police.
