There was to be limited service on the Long Island Rail Road and the Metro-North Harlem Line between North White Plains and Grand Central Terminal as of 2 p.m. Wednesday. But the MTA was still working to restore power and clear debris for the New Haven Line. Darien Postpones Halloween; Restoration To Start Soon DARIEN, Conn. — Darien officially postponed Halloween until Wednesday, Nov. 7, in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. Crews were working Tuesday to restore power and clear the many roads in town that were closed or impassable. A flood advisory remained in effect Tuesday until midnight. Flooding Begins In Darien As Sandy Arrives DARIEN, Conn. – Darien began to experience flooding as Hurricane Sandy rolled in early Monday afternoon. Darien Calls For Evacuation Of All Coastal Areas DARIEN, Conn. – Darien has ordered an evacuation of the coastal areas by 7 p.m. Sunday due to Hurricane Sandy.
