The Darien Social Services Department is accepting applications for its energy assistance program. Proof of income is required, which includes but is not limited to, Social Security, pension employment and interest income from any source. If you are employed, the Social Services Department needs your pay stubs for the last four weeks. Proof of liquid assets is also required. Darien Resident Killed In Helicopter Crash DARIEN, Conn. — Darien resident Tighe Sullivan was one of two people killed in a helicopter crash in Pennsylvania on Tuesday night. Sullivan, 51, a Darien resident for 17 years, was a founder, partner and chief operating officer of Fraser Sullivan Investment Management in New York City. He is survived by his wife, former Darien selectman Callie Sullivan, and their three children. Three people were aboard when the helicopter crashed in a heavily wooded area in Tobyhanna, Pa., near Mount Pocono, police said. Darien RTM Has Several Vacant Seats This Year DARIEN, Conn. — If you are interested in serving on Darien's largest government body, there is plenty of room. The Representative Town Meeting will have several seats open in this coming election. This November, 58 of the RTM's 100 seats will be vacant, according to Town Clerk Donna Rajczewski. Police: Satanic Numbers Painted On Darien Church DARIEN, Conn. - A Darien church was vandalized with what may be Satanist symbols, police said. A visitor to the New Beginnings Church on Tokeneke Road told police that he entered the church at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 3 and left 20 minutes later. When he was leaving he saw the Roman numerals "IVII" spray painted on the front door and on a concrete wall near the main entrance.
