Dancers Perform "The Nutcracker" At Waveny LifeCare Venue In New Canaan NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- The New England Dance Theater recently gave a live ballet performance of “The Nutcracker” on “Main Street” at The Village for residents, patients and adult day program participants throughout Waveny LifeCare Network's expanse of services. Director Ginna Ortiz narrated the program by introducing the main characters and describing each scene to the audience. After the performance, those in attendance were able to meet the dancers.

Demarest Athletic Association Schedules Community Meeting For January DEMAREST, N.J. -- The Demarest Athletic Association will hold its first meeting of the year on Wednesday, Jan.13, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in the Wakelee Field House. Subsequent meetings will be held every second Wednesday of the month. Meetings are open to all Demarest residents. The athletics association is a non-profit whose sole responsibility is to organize the recreational and travel sports for the town. Holmes School Students Share Stories Of Kindness DARIEN, Conn. -- In honor of "Connect with Kindness Day," classes at Holmes Elementary School in Darien read and discussed the book "Have You Filled a Bucket Today," and were encouraged to engage in acts of kindness throughout the day. Third- and fourth-graders at the school paired up with the first-graders to make a reindeer craft. The fourth-graders also made a “kindness fortune teller” for the first graders, filled with messages encouraging them to show kindness to others. The event was held on Monday, Dec. 14.
