Shelton Area Lawmakers To Ring The Bell For Salvation Army At Walmart
SHELTON, Conn. -- State Sen. Kevin Kelly (R-21), along with State Reps. Jason Perillo (R-113) and Ben McGorty (R-122), will participate in the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign by ringing bells at the Shelton Walmart on Saturday, Dec. 19, from noon to 1 p.m.
The public is welcome to attend and donate to the campaign. Walmart will match all contributions up to $25,000 received during the hour.
Kelly, an assistant minority leader, represents Monroe, Seymour, Shelton and Stratford. Perillo represents Shelton and McGorty represents Shelton, Stratford and Trumbull.
Greenwich Land Trust Sets Up For Mushroom Log Cultivation Workshop
GREENWICH, Conn. -- The Greenwich Land Trust Conservation Center, located at 370 Round Hill Road, is hosting a mushroom log cultivation workshop on Friday, Dec. 11, from 3 to 5 p.m.
The workshop will begin with a short walk around the Mueller Preserve at the conservation center to discuss mushroom ecology, followed by a hands-on lesson in mushroom cultivation.
Hardwood logs will be inoculated with oyster, shiitake, and lion's mane mushrooms, which attendees can bring home for their own harvest in the spring.
