Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) is urging the U.S. Geological Survey to rename two "offensively" named buoys in Long Island Sound off the coast of Branford. Blumenthal sent a letter to Suzette Kimball, acting director of the U.S. Geological Survey in Reston, Va., expressing similar concerns to those of Connecticut State Sen. Day Announces Arrival Of New Buses In Rockland County Fleet NEW CITY, N.Y. -- County Executive Ed Day recently announced that four new buses are now in service in Rockland County's Transport of Rockland (TOR) fleet. The buses – two 29-foot and two 35-foot vehicles – are painted in the traditional white and green TOR colors and feature a low-floor design for easy boarding. The vehicles also include front door wheelchair access ramps, front, rear and street-side destination signs, "stop request" signal buttons and touch tape and bicycle racks.
