Monroe Closing Town Offices, Library, Services For Thanksgiving MONROE, Conn. -- The Monroe Town Hall offices, library, highway department, senior center, food pantry, Garder Road Landfill and Spring Hill Road Transfer Station will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 26, in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday. The Town Hall offices, senior center, library, food pantry and the highway department will remain closed on Friday, November 27. Mount Vernon Family Displaced After Fire Starts In Deli MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- A fire that started in a local deli on South Fulton Avenue at approximately 6:30 a.m. on Monday spread to an upstairs apartment, leaving at least one family without a place to stay, according to News 12. The fire is being blamed on an electric malfunction at the deli, News 12 reports. Officials report that the apartment incurred the worst of the destruction from the blaze, according to News 12. Darien's Royle Elementary Enjoys Performance Of 'Click Clack Moo' DARIEN, Conn.-- Theatreworks at Royle Elementary recently brought a beloved children’s story to life. “Click, Clack Moo,” a new musical based on the popular book by Doreen Cronin, was performed Nov. 9 at the school. The show, which was viewed by students in grades K-2, also taught lessons about negotiation and compromise.

Darien High Alumni Hockey Game To Feature Banner-Raising For State Champs DARIEN, Conn. -- The Darien High School Boys Ice Hockey Annual Alumni Game and Championship Banner Raising will be held on Saturday, Nov. 28 at 4 pm at the Darien Ice Rink. The event will include returning varsity and junior varsity players taking on alumni members in the Annual Boys Hockey Turkey Classic. The evening will also feature the raising of the championship banner recognizing the 2014-2015 team's historic conference and state championship victories. Tickets are $5 at the door.
