Monroe Closing Town Offices, Library, Services For Thanksgiving
MONROE, Conn. -- The Monroe Town Hall offices, library, highway department, senior center, food pantry, Garder Road Landfill and Spring Hill Road Transfer Station will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 26, in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday.
The Town Hall offices, senior center, library, food pantry and the highway department will remain closed on Friday, November 27.
Garder Road Landfill and the Spring Hill Road Transfer Station will be open Friday, Nov. 27, and Saturday, Nov. 28, for normal business hours.

Westport's Brownstone Boutique Fills Shelves For Holiday Open House
WESTPORT, Conn. -- The Brownstone, an independent fashion boutique and importer in Westport, will host a two-day holiday open house during Thanksgiving weekend.
The event will take place on Saturday, November 28, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Sunday, November 29, from noon to 5 p.m. It will include refreshments, a gift basket raffle and a free gift with purchases over $60.

State Sen. Carlucci Distributes Holiday Bags To Students
SPRING VALLEY, N.Y. -- State Sen. David Carlucci (D-Rockland/Westchester), along with local community group Advocating for Change, distributed more than 100 Thanksgiving holiday bags to students in need on Monday, Nov. 23, between 9-11 a.m.
The bags included an assortment of canned mashed potatoes, cranberries, vegetables, stuffing, cake mix with frosting, corn bread mix, macaroni and cheese and a gift card for purchasing a turkey.
