Two U.S. postal workers who stole more than $4 million in checks from John F. Kennedy Airport were sentenced Tuesday, April 14, federal authorities said.
Kevaughn Wellington, 33, got five years in prison, while his co-conspirator Ky-Mani Straker, 26, was sentenced to one year, the Justice Department said.

A Long Island driver struck and killed a young woman walking across the street early Wednesday morning, April 15, police said.
Melody Quinones, 21, of Brentwood, was in the roadway on Washington Avenue in Brentwood around 5:10 a.m. when a vehicle traveling southbound crashed into her, the Suffolk County Police Department said.
She was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore, where she was pronounced dead, authorities said.

Moshe (Moe) Kreindler, 39, suffered devastating injuries in the Thursday, March 19 wreck in Woodmere, Yeshiva World News reported. He was pronounced dead Wednesday morning.
