Sam Eisenberg, 98, Founding Partner Of White Plains Law Firm WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Sam Eisenberg, 98, a founding partner of the White Plains law firm of Kurzman Eisenberg Corbin & Lever, LLP, died on Sept. 5. Eisenberg was the winner of the Above the Bar Pace Setter Award in 2010. He served as Chair of the Mt. Vernon Zoning Board of Appeals, and was Associate Judge and then City Court Judge for the City of Mt. Vernon from 1978 through 1985. Stamford Baseball Executive Retained Tight Family Bond STAMFORD, Conn. – During the height of negotiations during the baseball players’ strike in 1981, union leader Marvin Miller asked Stamford’s Ray Grebey for a sudden session. Miller knew that Grebey, negotiator for baseball’s owners, had a prior commitment that day to attend his son’s college graduation in Ohio. Grebey, who died Aug. 28 at the age of 85, handled both responsibilities. Max Romanchuk, 77, Long-Time Hawthorne Resident HAWTHORNE, N.Y. – Max Romanchuk, 77, a long-time resident of Hawthorne, died on Sept. 1. Romanchuk was born on June 10, 1936. He resided at Hebrew Hospital Home in Westchester. He provided many services to members of the community. He is survived by his daughter, Nancy. He was the grandfather of Jose Robert DelValle and Noah Romanchuk. He is survived by many other grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
