New Canaan Crew Takes Silver At National Regatta NEW CANAAN, Conn. – New Canaan Crew won a silver medal in the Men’s Quad and had several other strong showings as it sent four teams to the USRowing Youth National Championships in Oak Ridge, Tenn. New Canaan’s team of Graham Mink, Glen Wolyner, Mike Senf and Steven Gerasimoff of Stamford won silver. After winning its first race, the team faced rival Narragansett in the semifinals. New Canaan's James Randon Scores Second In 2 Mile At National Track Meet NEW CANAAN, Conn. – New Canaan’s James Randon closed out his high school track career with two superior performances at the New Balance Outdoor Nationals in North Carolina over the weekend. Randon finished second in the 2 mile in 8:52.56, a personal best. On Sunday, he finished fourth in the 1-mile run in 4:10.29. Randon ran for Middlesex School, a private school in Massachusetts. Big Crowd Supports Relay For Life In Yorktown YORKTOWN, N.Y. – Cancer survivors and supporters paced Jack DeVito Memorial Field Friday night and early Saturday morning for the eighth annual Relay For Life of Yorktown. The walk,  sponsored by the American Cancer Society,  raised nearly $235,000, according to event co-chair Jane McCarthy. She said she expects the final total to surpass $250,000. The current total represents an increase of $30,000 from the previous highest fund-raising total, according to McCarthy. Most of the proceeds go toward cancer research.
