Easton's Chris Thomas Qualifies For Ironman World Championship EASTON, Conn. – Easton’s Chris Thomas finished 12th overall and qualified for the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii later this year in Sunday’s Ironman 70.3 Eagleman in Cambridge, Md. Thomas finished fourth among amateurs in the event, which included a 1.2-mile swim, a 56-mile bike ride and a 13.1-mile run. Thomas finished in 4:08:34 and won his age group by nearly eight minutes. Fairfield County AAU Basketball Team Wins New Haven Tournament FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – An eighth-grade AAU boys basketball team from Fairfield County won its fifth tournament of the season by taking the Kingz of the Court tournament last weekend in New Haven. The United Sons and Daughters team, chosen from players in the Fairfield County Basketball League, won the title with a 80-35 win over the CT Elite in the final game.
