Young Fairfield Football Teams Continue To Roll FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield Wildcats seventh-grade football team defeated previously unbeaten Darien White while the sixth-grade team stayed undefeated in the Fairfield County Football League. The seventh-grade Wildcats, the defending league champions, fell behind 7-0 in the first quarter. Fairfield answered with touchdown runs by Jack Curtis, Timmy Jacobi and Matthew Cerminaro. Fairfield Track And Field Olympian Among Sports Night Honorees FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield’s Craig Kinsley, who overcome long odds to earn a spot on the U.S. Olympic track and field team in the summer, will be among the honorees Monday at the eighth annual Fairfield County Sports Night Hall of Fame dinner at the Hyatt Regency Greenwich. Kinsley threw the javelin at the 2012 Summer Olympics, finishing 23rd overall. Reaching the Olympics was an accomplishment for Kinsley, who suffered a torn labrum, a cartilage injury in his shoulder, in  2011 that hampered his training. Saturday’s 69-41 win over Kingswood-Oxford was the Storm’s most prolific output in years. Led by five touchdowns by Noel Thomas Jr., St. Luke’s accumulated 683 yards of offense in improving to 5-0. Darien Olympian Among Dinner Honorees DARIEN, Conn. – Olympic sailor Rob Crane of Darien will be honored at the Fairfield County Sports Commission’s Hall of Fame Dinner Monday as Darien's Sports Person of the Year.   The dinner begins at 6 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Greenwich, and several other athletes, coaches and teams from other Fairfield County communities will also be honored.
