New Canaan beat a field that included teams from Westport, Greenwich, Trumbull, Bethel, Weston and Monroe. New Canaan outscored opponents 11-1. Staples Runners Win Races At Wickham Invitational WESTPORT, Conn. – Staples senior Henry Wynne and freshman Hannah DeBalsi ended up at the same spot on the podium Saturday at the Wickham Invitational. Both cross country runners won their respective races at one of the state’s most prestigious invitationals. Wynne won the championship division of the boys race in 16:22, holding off Trevor Crawley of Cumberland, R.I. by one second. Ohn Hansell of New Milford was third in 16:47. Darien Boys Cross Country Wins Wickham Race DARIEN, Conn. – Darien’s boys cross country team won the championship race of the Wickham Park Invitational for the second straight year on Saturday in Manchester. Darien finished with 102 points, followed by New Milford with 115 and Xavier with 116. Sophomore Alex Ostberg finished fourth on the 5-kilometer course in 16:48. Fairfield Woman Chases Dream Of Running Success FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield’s Kristen Curran does not yet know her running outer limits. She is determined to find them. The Fairfield University junior has made great strides in the past year toward determining where she wants to take her competitive running career.
