Fairfield Softball Ousted From East Regional FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairifield’s run in the Little League East Regional softball tournament came to an end Thursday at the hand of New York pitcher Jenny Hickey. The hurler from New Hyde Park has mowed down other opponents as well during the team’s run in Bristol. Hickey tossed a four-hit shutout as New York won, 6-0, to reach the championship game Friday against New Jersey. Hickey is 3-0 for the tournament and has not allowed an earned run in 17 innings. It turns out the Fairfield County triathlon community was eager for such a group. The club started with around 20 members and now has blossomed into nearly 130. Maritime Rowing Club Wins 3 Events At Nationals NORWALK, Conn. – Maritime Rowing Club of Norwalk won three events en route to a third-place finish at the USRowing Club Nationals earlier this month in Camden, N.J. Norwalk native Dan Walsh doesn't figure he’ll be among them. Walsh, 33, won a bronze medal in rowing in the 2008 Summer Olympics and was an alternate on the 2004 U.S. team.
