Staples, Greenwich Reach Boys' Tennis Final WESTPORT, Conn. – Staples and Greenwich advanced to the finals of the Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference boys' tennis championship with victories in Thursday’s semifinals. Staples swept Ridgefield, 4-0, while Greenwich beat Westhill, 5-0. The teams will meet for the championship Tuesday in Wilton. Staples won behind singles victories by Graham Hyman, Connor Mitnick and Baxter Stein, all in straight sets. Steve Thomson and Zack Levin won at No. 1 doubles. Wilton Wahoo Swimmers Shine in First Long Course WILTON, Conn. -- The Wilton Y Wahoos hosted their first meet of the Long Course season earlier this month at the Wilton Y.   More than 500 swimmers competed in the three-day meet. Numerous best times where achieved even though many swimmers have not competed in a 50-meter pool since last year. In the 10/under group Richard Nolan won the 200 free, 50 breast and 100 breast. Norwalk 4th-Grade Boys' Hoops Team Wins Tournament NORWALK, Conn. – The TMT fourth-grade boys' basketball team won the Zero Gravity tournament last weekend in games played in Ledyard and Stonington. The TMT teams are AAU programs at the Carver Center in Norwalk. TMT, which is coached by Terrance Fuller, won three games in the tournament. In the title game, TMT won, 27-19. The tournament featured 100 teams in boys' and girls' divisions from fourth grade through high school.

Greens Farms Girls Win League Doubles Title WESTPORT, Conn. – The Greens Farms Academy undefeated girls' tennis doubles team of Olivia Kjorlien and Avery Wolfe won the Fairchester Athletic Association championship Wednesday in Westport. Kjorlien, a junior from New Canaan, and Wolfe, a freshman from Darien, defeated Charlotte Seiler and Kelly Seaver of St. Luke’s in the final, 8-3. Young Lacrosse Players Rock Westport WESTPORT, Conn. — The Westport PAL lacrosse program hosted its fourth annual Bantam Lax Day at PJ Romano Field on Sunday. The Bantam program, which includes more than 120 boys in Grades 1 to 3, hosted teams from Norwalk, Wilton, Weston and Ridgefield. The PAL lacrosse program in Westport serves 322 boys and 180 girls in grades 1 to 8. Norwalk River Rowing Sends 6 Crews to Nationals NORWALK, Conn. – Six crews from Norwalk River Rowing Association earned trips to the U.S. Youth Nationals championships with solid finishes at last weekend’s Northeast Regionals in Worcester, Mass.
