Norwalk's All-Saints Girls Take 2nd in New England NORWALK, Conn. -- The All Saints Catholic School grades 5/6 girls' basketball team finished second this weekend in the New England CYO Regional Tournament in Burlington, Vt. All Saints dropped a narrow, 28-27, decision to Mater Christi School from Burlington in the championship game. Norwalk-based All Saints, representing the Diocese of Bridgeport, fought to a 7-7 tie at the end the first quarter. The Burlington school led 13-9 at halftime and 21-19 after three quarters. The 52-year-old Darien man hasn’t stopped and will run the Boston Marathon for the sixth consecutive year April 16. “I was wheezing, coughing, it wasn’t that much fun in the beginning,’’ said Pfister, who lived in New York at the time. “Then you begin to feel muscles that you’ve never felt before. Naa-norwalk Football Opens Online Registration NORWALK, Conn. – The NAA-Norwalk Junior Football and Cheer is registering players and cheerleaders at early-bird rates through April 30. New rates take effect May 1. The season begins in August. Football players in grades 2-8 and cheerleaders in grades 1-8 are welcome. The total payment for players who register by April 30 is $245, which includes a deposit of $65 and three payments of $60. Mid-Fairfield U12 Girls Fall in National Semis FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – The Mid-Fairfield Stars girls hockey team dropped a 3-2 contest to Honeybaked of Detroit in the semifinals of the Tier 1 USA Hockey national championships Sunday in Marlborough, Mass. Westport’s Katherine Paliotta and Darien’s Gillis Frechette scored for the Stars, who finished the season 37-12. Goalie Courtney DeNaut made 16 saves.
