Rams Ready for Another Quick Turnaround NEW CANAAN, Conn. New Canaans football team has been down this path before. Three games in 10 days is a difficult stretch in any sport, but especially so in a physically demanding sport such as football. Sacred Heart Men Win Conference Opener FAIRFIELD, Conn. Shane Gibson scored 21 points while Stamfords Chris Evans and Norwalks Evan Kelley also played well for Sacred Heart Thursday in a 68-55 win over Quinnipiac in a Northeast Conference men's basketball game. Evans scored 11 points and had five rebounds for the Pioneers (5-3 overall, 1-0 Northeast Conference). Kelley scored four points in 28 minutes. Mid Fairfield Blues Hockey Team Wins Tournament FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. The Mid Fairfield Youth Hockey Associations Mite Majors team won the Silver Stick tournament last weekend in West Chester, Pa., by going 6-0. The victory qualifies the team for the Silver Stick national tournament in January. Mid Fairfield won the championship, 6-5, over the New Jersey Colonials in dramatic fashion. Stack Will Direct Skating at New Stamford Rink STAMFORD, Conn. Chelsea Piers Connecticut has named Matt Stack the clubs director of rinks. For the past seven years, Stack worked for BlueStreak Sports Training in Stamford, where he was one of the four original partners and facility general manager.
