Wilton Youth Football Celebrates Fantastic Fall WILTON, Conn. – The final numbers for the Wilton teams this fall in the Fairfield County Football League were staggering. The teams have had success in recent years, but this year’s teams set a standard of excellence that will be hard to duplicate. Wilton teams shared the championships in the third and fourth grades. The fifth-grade team won a title for the third straight year. Wilton’s sixth-grade Black team lost once in the regular season and finished as the league's runner-up. Norwalk, Stamford Players Power Pioneers FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Norwalk’s Evan Kelley and Stamford’s Chris Evans have helped the Sacred Heart University men’s basketball team to a 4-3 start as it prepares for a road game Thursday against Quinnipiac. Kelley, a sophomore who played at Norwalk High, and Evans, a sophomore who played at Stamford High, have cracked the starting lineup for the Pioneers. Kelley scored 10 points and Evans added six in Sacred Heart’s most recent game, a 77-64 win over Brown on Sunday. Kelley, a guard, is averaging 9.7 points per game on 46 percent shooting. Darien, Stamford Riders Spur Sacred Heart Team FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Women from Darien and Stamford helped the Sacred Heart University equestrian team finish in the fall season in first place. Darien’s Jocelyn Alfieri and Stamford’s Amanda Contento and Emma Joseph compete for the Pioneers. At the final fall meet against UConn, Alfieri, a sophomore, finished first in her section of open fences, and Joseph finished fourth in her section of walk/trot. The Pioneers’ best performance of the fall came in a Nov. 16 meet at Wesleyan, where they recorded perfect scores in every division and grabbed nine blue ribbons.

Greenwich Ballplayers Finish 2nd in Fall League GREENWICH, Conn. – The Greenwich Green under-15 baseball team made it to the finals of the Fairfield County Fall League before falling to Harlem RBI, 12-7, in the championship game. Players in the photo include Ian Brown, L.J. Ambrogio, Matt Pignataro, Evan Jonokucki, Brett Pate, Nick Vigliano, Erik Boender, Zach Monick, Andrew Mitchell, Tim Prier and Christian DiRusso.
