Top Triathlete Hits the Road on Thanksgiving GREENWICH, Conn. – Greenwich’s Joan Lynch finds her competitive outlet during the summer, when she is one of the region's top age-group triathletes. Thursday’s 5-mile road race that begins at the Wakeman Boys and Girls Club in Southport is far less intense.  Lynch will run in the race for the fourth straight year with her children, Ryan, 11, and Meghan, 8. Dodge Ball Hits the Spot at Fairfield Club FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Children threw balls and ran for cover during a Dodge Ball Tournament at the Wakeman Boys and Girls Club. The tournament for seventh and eighth graders was sponsored by Torch Club, a leadership and service group at the club. The action featured nearly 110 children, with up to seven players on a team. Six players stood on the court to start the game, and players were eliminated after they were hit with the ball. The Rufiges ended up as the champions.  Check out video from the action here. Area Runners Fly Fast in Philly FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – Darien’s Brad Wellington finished fifth among 244 Connecticut runners and broke the three-hour mark for the first time Sunday in the Philadelphia Marathon. Wellington ran 2:57:57 and finished 30th in the 35-39 age group. Wellington was 225th overall in field of 10,181 finishers. The top county runner was Ridgefield’s Bryan Kovalsky, who ran 2:35:42 and finished 30th overall. Wilton Women Run to Lick Leukemia WILTON, Conn. – Dina Mariani, Amanda Torres and Lauren Ward will travel nearly 3,600 miles in January just to run about 40 miles. They are doing it with "Team in Training" for the Connecticut chapter of the Wilton-based Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, where all three women work.
