3 Young Wilton Runners Win State Races WILTON, Conn. – Three Wilton Running Club boys won championships Sunday in the Connecticut Junior Olympics Cross Country state championships at White Memorial in Litchfield. Tyler Zengo, Aaron Breene and Clint Corso won races for Wilton. They are now eligible to compete in the regional meet Sunday in Queensbury, N.Y. Zengo won the Bantam Boys (10-and-under) race in 12:10.87 for 3 kilometers. Teammate Flynn Crowder was fifth in 12:59.69 and Davis Langhoff was ninth in 14:11.52. Breene won the Midget Boys (ages 11-12) 3K race in 10:20.11. Teammate Ben Ruffing (11:43.91) was 16th in the race.…

New Canaan Girls Take 2nd in State Swimming NEW CANAAN, Conn. – Four days after winning the league championship, New Canaan’s girls swim team returned to the pool Wednesday night to take second in the Class L championships at Wesleyan University. The Rams swept the relays and compiled 689 points. Darien won the meet with 839. The teams return to the pool Saturday for the State Open at Yale University in the final meet of the season. Darien Girls Swim to State Crown DARIEN, Conn. – Darien’s girls swimming team won its second state championship in three years Wednesday night. The Blue Wave compiled 839 points to outdistance New Canaan, 689 points, for the Class L title in a meet at Wesleyan University.  Amanda Bieler won the 200 freestyle, and Caroline Orem won the 100 backstroke for Darien’s only individual wins.
