Darien Girls Lose First Race, But Win Division DARIEN, Conn. – Darien's girls cross country team lost for the first time Tuesday, but still grabbed its first Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference Eastern Division championship. Wilton defeated Darien, 26-29, while Greenwich nipped Darien, 27-28. The Blue Wave did edge Fairfield Warde, 26-29. Tuesday's race was run at Tod's Point in Greenwich. Westhill Girls Finish Strong in League Final STAMFORD, Conn. – Westhill’s girls cross country team placed three runners in the top four finishers Tuesday to sweep its season-ending meet against Danbury and St. Joseph at Danbury’s Tarrywile Park. Westhill beat Danbury, 25-31, and St. Joseph, 15-49. Westhill junior Nicole Ambrosecchio won the 4,000-meter race in 16:36, followed by sophomore Claire Howlett, who was one second behind. Darien Boy Runners Finish Season Unbeaten DARIEN, Conn. – The Darien High School boys cross country team completed an undefeated regular season Tuesday by sweeping a meet in Greenwich.  Darien defeated Greenwich, Wilton and Fairfield Warde to finish 17-0 in the Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference. It was the first undefeated season for Darien, according to the league website. It will now go after its second league title in school history. Darien won the FCIAC championship race in 1970.
