Rowayton Little Leaguers Reach Final NORWALK, Conn. -- Rowayton defeated Norwalk, 4-2, Thursday at Bailey Beach to reach the championship game in the District 1 Little League Tournament of Champions. Rowayton will play the winner of a game Sunday between Wilton and Ridgefield National for the title. Rowayton opened the tournament with a 3-1 win over Darien National to earn its way into the semifinals. The Wilton-Ridgefield National game scheduled for Thursday was postponed by rain. Triathletes Ready to Roll, Swim and Run STAMFORD, Conn. -- Since the Stamford KIC IT Triathlon started four years ago it has become one of the most popular Olympic-distance events in the state. Sunday's race begins at 6:30 a.m. at Cummings Beach, and there is also a kids triathlon scheduled for Saturday. The event will now include more than 600 athletes. Sunday's race consists of a 0.9-mile swim, a 24.8-mile bike ride and a 6.2-mile run. Tigers Claw Past Field in Baseball Tourney The Technique Tigers, a Bridgeport-based AAU baseball team with players from Fairfield, Norwalk and Westport, went 7-0 last weekend to win the Pappi Palooza Festival in Rehoboth Beach, Dela. The players are ages 13-and-under. The Tigers outscored opponents 80-19 to win the tournament, and hit 13 home runs. The Tigers' pitching staff picked up 33 strikeouts in seven games. The Fairfield Road Races, including a 5K on Saturday and a half-marathon on Sunday, will take off from Jennings Beach in one of the Fairfield County running community’s most celebrated events. The half-marathon, in its 31st year, has sold out with 4,500 runners registered to begin their race at 8:30 a.m. The 5K is limited to 1,500 runners.
