NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell Visits Fairfield Giants Football FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Players and coaches in the Fairfield Giants Youth Football program got a visit from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell during practice Wednesday evening. Goodell stopped by the practice to follow up on the impact that the "Heads Up Football" program has had on youth football. Website Launched In Investigation Into Redding Death REDDING, Conn. -- A new website has launched as part of the investigation into the death of Redding lawyer Gugsa Abraham "Abe" Dabela. Dabela was found dead in his car in April 2014 of a gunshot wound to the head. Police ruled the 35-year-old's death a suicide, but earlier this August the state NAACP and the Norwalk branch of the NAACP announced that they were opening an investigation into the death. Ridgefield High School Upperclassmen Return To School Wednesday RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Ridgefield High School upperclassmen will return to school Wednesday for the first day of classes. Police: Credit Cards Stolen From Darien Car Used In Hartford DARIEN, Conn. -- Credit cards taken from an unlocked car parked in a Darien driveway were used to purchase more than $1,200 worth of items in Hartford, according to police. The car was parked in the owner's driveway on Raiders Lane when it was entered sometime between 7:45 p.m. on Aug. 17 and 8 a.m. on Aug. 18, police said. The owner of the car did not know it had been entered until receiving a call from her credit card company about unusual activity, police said. Norwalk Man Charged With Headbutting Home Depot Employee NORWALK, Conn. -- A Norwalk man was charged with headbutting an employee at Home Depot while trying to return paint cans he hadn't paid for, according to police. Dustin Wymss, 21, was charged with sixth-degree larceny, third-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace. He was also charged with two counts of violation of probation dating to 2013. Norwalk Man Charged With Trespassing, Running From Cops NORWALK, Conn. -- A Norwalk man was charged after running from police while hanging out in a public housing complex where he was not supposed to be, according to police. Jovan Smith, 23, was charged with interfering with an officer and first-degree criminal trespass. He was held on a $5,000 bond and will appear in court Sept. 3. Police: Norwalk Man Found With Gun, Pot In His Car NORWALK, Conn. -- Officers found a gun and marijuana in a Norwalk's man's car after pulling him over Sunday night, police said. Michael Cayo, 23, was charged with carrying a gun without a permit, weapons in a motor vehicle, possession of less than four ounces of marijuana, operation of a motor vehicle while using a hand-held mobile phone, and failure to use a turn signal.
