Car Burglaries Reported On Main Street In Ridgefield RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Ridgefield police are reminding residents to lock their cars after a string of motor vehicle burglaries occurred recently in the Main Street area. Over the past week, police have received multiple calls about items being stolen from inside parked cars in the Main Street area. The burglaries are believed to have occurred during the overnight hours, police said. In each case, the vehicle was left unlocked and no forced entry was reported, police said. Norwalk Police Investigating Death Of 20-Year-Old Stamford Man NORWALK, Conn. -- Norwalk police are investigating the untimely death of 20-year-old Alejandro Garcia of Stamford. At about 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, staff at the Norwalk Hospital Emergency Department notified police that an unresponsive male had been brought to the emergency room and was pronounced dead upon arrival, police said. The man, later identified as Garcia, had been transported to the hospital in a private vehicle by his friends, according to police. NAACP, Family Question Circumstances Of Redding Lawyer's Death REDDING, Conn. – The death of Redding lawyer Gugsa Abraham “Abe” Dabela, who was found dead in his car of a gunshot wound last year, is the subject of an investigation launched by the state NAACP and the Norwalk branch of the NAACP. The body of Dabela, 35, was found in his car after a motor vehicle accident less than a mile from his house on April 5, 2014. The gunshot wound to the back of his head was ruled a suicide by the Office of the Medical Examiner in October 2014. Man Reports Robbery At South Norwalk Train Station NORWALK, Conn. -- A man reported being robbed at knife point at the South Norwalk train station Tuesday night. The 26-year-old man told police that he was entering the train station parking lot at around 9:11 p.m. when he was approached by a black man who pushed him and pulled out a knife. Norwalk Variety Store Robbed At Gunpoint NORWALK, Conn. -- Two men robbed a variety store at gunpoint Tuesday, according to Norwalk police. The robbery took place around 10:30 a.m. at the Corner Variety Store on Westport Avenue. The two men were wearing hoodies and masks when they entered the store, and one of them was brandishing a handgun. Norwalk Becomes Largest Police Force In Connecticut To Use Body Cameras NORWALK, Conn. – Norwalk police officers out on patrol will now begin using body cameras attached to their uniforms to record their interactions and improve accountability. Elderly Norwalk Man Accused Of Groping Female Security Guard NORWALK, Conn. -- A 79-year-old Norwalk man was charged with grabbing a female security guard's chest at the senior apartment complex where he lives, according to police.
