The fire was reported at 47 Riverside Ave. at 12:58 p.m. Thursday, according to Deputy Fire Chief Ed Prescott. Firefighters arrived on the scene to find heavy fire on the first floor and extending into the second floor of the three-story home. Cards, Cash Stolen From Darien Chamber Of Commerce DARIEN, Conn. -- Debit cards and cash were stolen from the office of the Darien Chamber of Commerce recently, according to police. The theft is believed to have occurred between the afternoon of Aug. 14 and the morning of Aug. 15. The chamber was notified by the Darien Bank and Trust of some suspicious activity on one of their debit cards. The cards and an unknown amount of cash were in four bank deposit bags in the desk of a chamber employee.
