Resurrection Church Buys United Methodist Church Of Rye RYE, N.Y. -- The Church of the Resurrection has purchased the former site of the United Methodist Church of Rye to help alleviate some of its parking problems. The one-and-a-half acre property is located just 50 feet away from the Church of the Resurrection. The United Methodist Church closed its doors in 2012 due to declining membership and put the property up for sale. After consulting with the Archdiocese of New York, the Church of the Resurrection decided to buy the property.
