Sex Offender Charged With Breach of Peace in Darien DARIEN, Conn. ? A registered sex offender from Stamford was arrested after a woman accused him of trying to open her car door at a Darien intersection, police said.  Gary Shurtleff was charged with breach of peace and interfering with an officer. He was held on $250 bond and appeared in court Dec. 11. The woman was stopped at a red light at the corner of Post and Tokeneke roads on Dec.10 when Shurtleff approached her car and tried to open the door, according to police reports. Darien Library To Host Discussions On Newtown Tragedy DARIEN, Conn. – Parents wondering how to talk to their kids about the Newtown school shooting will have two opportunities to get help. The Darien Library and Family Centers will host two discussions at the library next week. The open talks will be facilitated by licensed therapists from Family Centers. Parents, educators and caregivers will be able to talk about the shooting, its impact on their children, and get advice and feedback. Police: Man Beaten and Robbed By Masked Men in Norwalk NORWALK, Conn. ? A man reported being beat up and robbed by three men on Ely Avenue in Norwalk Wednesday night, police said. The man told police he was walking on a path that connects Ely Avenue with Lexington Avenue around 10:15 p.m. when he was approached by three men wearing black masks, black clothing and gloves.
