Lewisboro Starting 2016 With 'First Day' Celebration
LEWISBORO, N.Y. -- The Town of Lewisboro will be kicking off 2016 with a First Day celebration on Friday, Jan. 1, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The free event will include a yoga class and an 11 a.m. hike at the Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, followed by a chili and cider lunch in the Trailside Museum. There will also be an art and photography exhibit, an animal show, a concert at South Salem Presbyterian Church and a children’s activity, making winter pine cone feeders for birds, sponsored by The Lewisboro Garden Club. Garfield High School Students To Perform In Annual Winter Concert
GARFIELD, N.J. -- Garfield High School will hold its annual winter concert on Tuesday, Dec. 15, at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium, 500 Palisade Ave. The Garfield band and chorus will perform winter tunes with music that runs the spectrum from Bach to Coldplay. Admission is free and refreshments will be served.

Darien Library And The Depot To Host Teen Book Club
DARIEN, Conn. -- The Darien Library and The Depot will hold a book club for middle school-aged students on Tuesday, Dec. 15, at 3 p.m. The club is run by teen librarian Erica Gauquier of the Darien Library. At the first meeting, which will be held at The Depot, the group will be discussing “Paper Towns” by John Green. Copies of the book are available at the Darien Library. Wayne Valley Coaches Honored For Years Of Service
WAYNE, N.J. -- A pair of Wayne Valley coaches were recently honored by their peers. Doug Flower, who coaches track and field, and baseball coach Jeff Hoover each received the 20 Years of Outstanding Service Award at the 2015 Passaic County Coaches Association Winter Awards Dinner. Each received a plaque for the milestone.

Ossining Resident's Holiday Light Display A 25-Year Tradition
OSSINING, N.Y. -- Longtime Ossining resident Andre Platt has been putting up a 50,000-light holiday display for the past 25 years. The local attraction, which Platt designed himself, includes a light tunnel and full-size Santa's workshop. The display, at 50 Iroquois Road, is open to the public for viewing.
