Wilton Wahoo Relay Sets State Record WILTON, Conn. – A Wilton Wahoos swim team set a state record in the 200-yard medley relay in the girls 13- and 14-year-old division at last weekend’s Age Group Championships. The team of Emma Holmquist (Wilton), Kirsten Daly (Weston), Elizabeth Sargent (Trumbull) and Ky-Lee Perry (Norwalk) swam in 1:50.62. They broke the previous record, set in 2011, by 1.03 seconds.

St. Mary's Of Ridgefield 8th-Grade Girls Win Basketball Title RIDGEFIELD, Conn. – The St. Mary’s of Ridgefield eighth-grade girls basketball team won the Fairfield County Basketball League championship Saturday with a 47-40 win over Norwalk. St. Mary’s also defeated Bethel and Wilton en route to the championship and a 32-2 record for the season. Norwalk and Bethel were the only teams to beat St. Mary’s during the regular season. Weston Boys Swim Team Wins Class S Crown WESTON, Conn. – Jordan Berger won two individual events and swam on a winning relay team to help the Weston High School boys swim team win the Class S state title Wednesday at Wesleyan University in Middletown. Weston finished with 698 points and knocked off two-time defending champion Sacred Heart, which finished with 538. Weston, the runner-up to Sacred Heart each of the past two years, won its third state crown in six years. The Trojans also won in 2008 and 2010. Wilton Seventh-Grade Girls Basketball Team Wins Title WILTON, Conn. – The Wilton White seventh-grade girls basketball team won its bracket in the season-ending Fairfield County Basketball League tournament last weekend. Redding, Easton Girls Basketball Team Wins County Title REDDING, Conn. – The Redding-Easton fifth grade girls basketball team won its division in the season-ending Fairfield County Basketball League tournament. Redding-Easton, coached by Dave Danko, beat Fairfield PAL in the championship game, 23-15. The team finished the season with a 13-7 record. Yorktown Teen Center Hosts 3-Point Contest YORKTOWN, N.Y. – The Yorktown Teen Center will host a 3-point basketball shooting contest on Friday at the Yorktown Community and Cultural Center Gym. Children in grades 6-12 and adults are eligible. There will be three divisions, and the suggested donation is $5. The contest begins at 6:30 p.m. Proceeds will be donated to the Relay For Life sponsored by the American Cancer Society.
