Deadline Nears For Yorktown Freshmen Spring Athletes YORKTOWN, N.Y. – Friday is the deadline for freshmen athletes at Yorktown High School to hand in paperwork for the spring season. Sports physicals will be held on Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the nurse’s office.  Practice for freshmen teams begins on Monday, March 20.

Cline will take over the same position at Long Island University, according to a press release issued Tuesday by the college in Brookville, N.Y. Cline will become the first woman president at LIU in the 87-year history of the university. She begins her duties in July. Cline emerged as the top choice after a six-month nationwide search. Jack Doherty Of Yorktown Nets Game-Winner For Marist YORKTOWN, N.Y. – Jack Doherty of Yorktown Heights, a senior at Marist College, scored with one second remaining in overtime Friday to give the Red Foxes a 10-9 win over Towson in men's lacrosse. Doherty, who played at Lakeland High, had four goals in the game and helped Marist to improve to 4-0 on the season. He has a team-high 11 goals and 14 points.
