Darien Girls Indoor Track Team Wins First State Open Crown DARIEN, Conn. – Darien High School’s girls team won the first indoor track and field state championship in school history with a dominating performance at the Floyd Little Athletic Center in New Haven. The Blue Wave finished with 66.33 points, followed by Hillhouse with 57. Fairfield's Sabrina Siciliano Set To End College Career FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield’s Sabrina Siciliano has bounced basketballs, shot jumpers and grabbed rebounds for the past 14 winters. Now, the senior at Assumption College is counting down the final games to a sensational playing career that began in third grade. “It’s crazy,’’ Siciliano said in a telephone interview from Worcester, Mass. “I can’t believe that it’s almost at the end.” Siciliano scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds Saturday in a 77-68 win against Adelphi for the Hounds, who are tied for third in the Northeast-10. Westport Fitness Club Seeks Cyclists For Junior Team WESTPORT, Conn. – Westport-based fitness studio and cylcling studio Sherpa is seeking young cyclists for its Junior Development Team. Riders ages 12-17 will train and ride with experienced cyclists from Sherpa. The group will begin with weekly rides during the spring, with more frequent training during the summer. Weston Brothers Chase Track, Baseball Success WESTON, Conn. – Fairfield Prep’s Kenny and Chris Collins are the fastest baseball players in the state. This winter, the Weston boys exploded out of the blocks as track sprinters for the Wilton-based Connecticut Elite. “There’s no doubt in my mind that if they pursued it full-time they’d be among the top three sprinters in the state,’’ said their coach, Kevin Foley. Danbury Sports Dome Nears Completion DANBURY, Conn. – Owners of the Danbury Sports Dome expect to have the new facility open by the middle of March, co-director Ray Franklin said last week. The interior of the facility is nearly complete. The biggest remaining hurdle is paving the parking area. Norwalk's All Saints Girls Win Youth Basketball Tourney NORWALK, Conn. – The girls basketball team at All Saints Catholic School in Norwalk defeated Wilton’s Our Lady of Fatima, 36-34 in overtime, to win the championship last weekend in the sixth annual Tyler Ugolyn Basketball Tournament. Wilton Girls Basketball Savors Special Season WILTON, Conn. – Wilton High School senior Alyssa Malvarosa was filled with joy after the Warriors defeated Danbury, 50-30, in Thursday’s girls basketball game.
