Slumping Danbury Girls Basketball Team Falls To Wilton DANBURY, Conn. – Wilton High School opened the game with a 15-0 run and went on to defeat Danbury, 50-30, in the final regular-season girls basketball game for the Hatters on Thursday night in Wilton. It was the third loss in four games for the slumping Hatters (17-3, 15-3). 3 Danbury Wrestlers Earn No. 1 Seeds For States DANBURY, Conn. – Undefeated Kevin Jack and two other Danbury High School wrestlers are No. 1 seeds for the Class LL state wrestling tournament, which begins Friday at Trumbull High School. Jack, 30-0, is the top seed at 120 pounds. Chris Bryant (22-2) is seeded first at 113 and Juan Garcia (23-3) is seeded No. 1 at 160. Stamford Girl Helps Synchro Skating Team Earn Trip To Nationals STAMFORD, Conn. – Stamford’s Sarah Meyers will compete for Team Image in the upcoming U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships in Plymouth, Mich. Meyers competes for Team Image’s Juvenile team, which trains at rinks in Westchester County. The skaters are ages 10 to 12. The team finished fifth at the recent Eastern championships in Lake Placid, N.Y. Wilton’s Samantha Newman is also a member of Team Image. Fairfield County Skaters Help Synchro Teams Win Medals STAMFORD, Conn. – Girls from Fairfield County helped Skyliners synchronized skating teams win two gold medals at the Eastern Championships last weekend in Lake Placid, N.Y. The Skyliners will send seven teams to the U.S. championships later this month. The Skyliners’ Juvenile and Preliminary teams won Eastern championships. The Prepreliminary and Novice teams took silvers, and the Intermediate team won a pewter (fourth place) medal.
