Snowy Weather Goes To The Dogs In Weston WESTON, Conn. – Snow means play time for three Siberian Huskies belonging to the Peyreigne family of Weston. The dogs were in their glory Friday morning as the snow started early and continued throughout the day. Apollo, Athena and Zeus frolicked for much of the morning in the snow. While most people stayed tucked inside and waited for roads to be cleared, the animals took the opportunity to enjoy the day-long treat to the white stuff.

Staples Boys Basketball Holds Off Westhill WESTPORT, Conn. – Staples High School’s boys basketball team won for the sixth time in seven games and sent a jolt through the Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference Thursday with a 53-50 victory over Westhill. The loss was the first conference setback for the Vikings (14-2 overall, 13-1 league). Staples improved to 10-6 overall and 9-5 in the league. The victory helps the Wreckers in their quest to reach the league playoffs. Dillon Schoen Named Darien Athlete Of The Month DARIEN, Conn. – The entire Darien High School girls track team performed magnificently at the Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference championship meet Jan. 31, but Dillon Schoen’s night was particularly noteworthy. Schoen won the 600 in school record time and anchored the winning 4 x 200 relay team. For her achievements, Schoen was selected The Darien Daily Voice Athlete of the Month. Norwalk Girls Moved By Film On Fairfield Cancer Center NORWALK, Conn. – The new Center for Survivorship in Fairfield, which changes lives by offering fitness programs for cancer survivors, also changed the lives of three Norwalk teenagers who produced a documentary film about the center. Jenna Thomas, Julie Mammoliti and Sophia Kiriakides produced a 22-minute documentary as part of a high school film class, History In The Making, taught by Kyle Seaburg. Wilton's Brynne Parsons Wins College Track Honor WILTON, Conn. – Wilton’s Brynn Parsons, a freshman sprinter at Johns Hopkins University in Maryland, was named the Centennial Conference Track Athlete of the Week after a strong performance last weekend. Parsons won the 60 meter and 200 meter dashes in the Seamus McElligot Invitational. She finished the 60 in 8.22, and the 200 in 26.97. Earlier this season, Parsons set the Hopkins freshman record in the 60 with a time of 8.15. Parsons ran for the Wilton High School track and field team and for the CT Elite squad coached by Wilton’s Kevin Foley.
