Registration is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday’s planned registration may be postponed due to the winter storm forecast for the region. The Shimmers, a Pre-Juvenile team, earned a fourth-place pewter medal. Easton's Brittney Dumas Sweeps College Hoop Awards EASTON, Conn. – Hartwick College’s Brittney Dumas, a freshman from Easton who played in high school at Joel Barlow, was named the Empire 8 Conference’s Women’s Basketball Player and Rookie of the Week. It was the fourth time Dumas earned the rookie award, and her first Player of the Week honor. Hartwick is in Oneonta, N.Y. Dumas scored a career-high 27 points in a 52-46 win over Stevens. Stamford Cheer Team Wins New Jersey Competition STAMFORD, Conn.  – Two cheerleading teams from the Stamford-based Gold Coast All-Stars won first place at a competition in Trenton, N.J.  last month. The victory by Haywire, a Senior 1 team for girls ages 18-and-under, earned the team a chance to compete in the U.S. Finals in May. Shannon Quinlan Named Wilton Athlete Of The Month WILTON, Conn. – Wilton High School junior Shannon Quinlan is a lacrosse player who also runs track. But even two league championships in school-record time won’t change her ultimate direction. Quinlan was selected The Wilton Daily Voice Athlete of the Month after winning the 55-meter dash and 300 meter run in last week’s Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference championships.
