In the few past years, however, the Redding resident and Joel Barlow High School senior has jumped to the international stage and harbors hopes of representing Australia in the 2014 Winter Olympics. Han, 17, heads into an important two-month stretch in her quest to represent Australia, which is the homeland of her father. Norwalk-Based Crew Excels At State Indoor Regatta NORWALK, Conn. – Norwalk-based Connecticut Boat Club rowers tuned up for the upcoming spring season with 18 girls posting their personal records on indoor equipment last week at the Connecticut State Indoor Championships in Easton. The team had 26 girls participate in the indoor competition, which included 32 clubs from six states. Westhill's Claire Howlett Sets Two School Track Records STAMFORD, Conn. – Westhill High School junior Claire Howlett set two school records and won one title Thursday at the Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference indoor track and field championships. The meet was held at the Floyd Little Athletic Complex in New Haven. Howlett won the 3,200 in a blistering dual with Staples freshman Hannah DeBalsi. Howlett won in 10:48.08, with DeBalsi next in 10:50.41. Howlett’s time was also a meet record. Howlett also had a close call in the 1,600. The race is scheduled for Saturday, May 18, and is a fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The race is held at the Greenwich Polo Club and is open to runners ages 8-and-up. Stamford Club Opens Registration For Synchro Skating STAMFORD, Conn. – Registration for the Southern Connecticut Synchronized Skating Open House Clinic begins Friday, Feb. 1, and continues through Feb. 13.
