Registration Opens For Triathlons In Norwalk NORWALK, Conn. – Registration is open for the Team Mossman triathlons, including three events scheduled for this summer in Norwalk. The Mighty Moss Half Iron Triathlon will be run June 30 at Calf Pasture Beach in Norwalk. The Mini Mossman Youth Triathlon is scheduled for July 13, and the Mossman Sprint Triathlon is scheduled for July 14. Both events will begin at Calf Pasture. Team Mossman, which is based at the Westport YMCA, also conducts the Park City Mossman Triathlon at Seaside Park in Bridgeport. That race will be run Aug. 25. Greens Farms Boys Hoops Savors One Title, Seeks More WESTPORT, Conn. – Greens Farms Academy will need to make room for a new banner in its gymnasium. The boys basketball team at the Westport private school clinched its first Fairchester Athletic Association regular season title last week. “On our summer t-shirts, we had a saying ‘Don’t cheat the wall,’’’ coach Doug Scott said. “There’s no banner up on Coyle (Gymnasium) for boys basketball. Redding's Brooklee Han Skates To 12th At International Event REDDING, Conn. – Redding figure skater Brooklee Han finished 12th on Sunday in the Four Continents Figure Skating Championships in Osaka, Japan. Han, a senior at Joel Barlow High School, represents Australia in international competition. Han was 11th after the short program, which can be viewed on YouTube, scoring 48.54 points. She was 12th in the free skate with a score of 86.36. Her total score was 134.90. Han's free skate is also on YouTube. Stamford Golfers Mourn Death Of Popular Instructor STAMFORD, Conn. – The Stamford golf community was stunned to learn Monday of the death of Barbara Boltin, a long-time teaching professional at Sterling Farms Golf Course. Boltin died Sunday in Florida after a prolonged battle with double pneumonia. Boltin was the director of instruction at Sterling Farms. She worked there for 18 years and was the first person hired by Angela Aulenti when she became the head professional at the course in 1994. Aulenti said Boltin was in her early 60s. Wilton Skater Helps Team Reach National Championships WILTON, Conn. – Wilton’s Samantha Newman, a seventh-grader at Middlebrook Middle School, will compete for Team Image in the upcoming U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships in Plymouth, Mich. Newman competes for Team Image’s Juvenile team, which trains at rinks in Westchester County. The skaters are ages 10 to 12. The team finished fifth at the recent Eastern championships in Lake Placid, N.Y. The national championships include the Top 12 Juvenile teams in the United States.

New Canaan's Whirlwind Divers Shine In Home Meet NEW CANAAN, Conn. – The Whirlwind Diving team from the New Canaan YMCA had an outstanding showing as it hosted an invitational meet. Whirlwind had 16 top-five finishes in a meet that included 165 divers in 42 events. Teams from six states competed in events that included Novice, Junior Olympic, Synchronized and Masters divers. Westhill Boys' Basketball Tries To Learn From Loss STAMFORD, Conn. – Friday’s loss to Staples may not have been the worst thing in the world for the Westhill High School boys' basketball team. Weather Delays High School Sports Events FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – Last week’s snow storm and Monday’s icy weather continue to wreak havoc with the high school sports schedule. Staples Boys Basketball Rebounds From Early Slide WESTPORT, Conn. – After a four-game losing streak left the Staples High School boys basketball team with a 3-5 record in mid-January, coach Colin Devine looked ahead, not back.
